About

Kathleen Dugan is the owner/operator of Mt Shasta Manual Therapy. She is Certified in Orthopedic Massage Therapy and has been studying for many years in the science and techniques of Osteopathic Manual Therapy. She is also a graduate of Spatial Dynamics Movement Education which combines a Waldorf Movement Education teaching curriculum with a specialization in understanding how our own movement/posture can affect our inner life as well as our physical presence.

While pursuing her passion for understanding injury and human performance, Kathleen became heavily involved in Sports Massage and treating athletes for competition and recovery. This led to a desire to understand and treat injuries and dysfunction in non-athletes as well. Kathleen loves to spend as much time outside as she can, is a voracious reader, and loves to cook.

Experience

Kathleen has had over 20 years of experience working with elite, recreational and student athletes. She began working with various Ultimate Frisbee teams in the Eugene area, at the High School and community level. Her love of all things athletic led to her work with USATF athletes at the Prefontaine Classic Track Meet and the Hayward Classic Masters Track Meet for 8 years. She was the Co-Director of massage therapy for the USATF Olympic Trials in 2008. She worked as the Massage Therapist for the Oregon Track Club Elite from 2006-2011 and she was the Massage Therapist at the 2012 and 2016 USATF Olympic Trials for the NJNY Track Club.

Since then, she has continued her work with Seattle Sockeye, a Seattle, WA club Ultimate Frisbee team, that won the National Championship title in 2019.She worked as a contract massage therapist for the University of Oregon football team from 2013-2021.

While all of this is tremendous fun, her greatest satisfaction is helping people regain function and freedom from pain. We are all athletes in whatever it is we do all day, everyday.
